At Shinfield Juniors most children are enthusiastic about mathematics; they are keen to engage with the subject and encourage others to do the same.  Pupils are able to talk about their mathematical understanding whilst appreciating the value of resilience, a growth mindset and mistake making as steps to becoming proficient mathematicians.

Likewise, colleagues share in the vision for mathematics: all children can master mathematics. Most practitioners try to instil a love for the subject in their pupils through encouragement, enthusiastic delivery of the maths curriculum, equality, empowering pupils and aiming for excellence.
