Artistic self-expression is a form of communication that has been integral to human society for millennia: whether retelling stories, questioning the world around them or reacting to world events. The programme of learning at Shinfield St. Mary’s is designed to ensure all children are able to become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques. Through producing a wide range of art - exploring, recording and refining their ideas - pupils are able to develop their own artist voice. Alongside creating their own work, the children will explore the work of great artists throughout history and from across the world.
